Last but not the least about BARHALGANJ
|
Barhalganj, in the vicinity of which the Muktipath is situated, is about 60 Km. southward away from the district town Gorakhpur on the Gorakhpur- Varansi National Highway. During the great freedom struggle of 1857 against the British colonial rule,it had Royle court of the king Hari Prasad Mall of the Naraharpur state, Chillupar, who fought against the British colonial rule in 1857. At that time, Barhalganj was the biggest bazar in the area, as the etimology of the word 'Barhalganj' reveals itself i.e. Barhal or Badahan means the big nd Ganj means the Bazar. Even today, Barhalganj is the biggest town in the entire district except the district town of Gorakhpur.
The piousity and austerity of Barhalganj can be judged by several mythical sayings still revalent in the nearby areas. Lord Rama and Lord Parshuramama(two Haris i.e.Gods)met here which is known as Dohrighat. Dasharatha, the father of Lord Rama, established and worshiped the phalpls of Lord shiva in Barhalganj. Barhalganj is situated in the mythological route, Ram Janki Marg, through which incarnated God Lord Rama, and his divine consort, the incanated Godess Mother Janki (i.e. Sita) went to Ayodhya from Janakpur after their marriage and the foot prints of Mother Janki and Lord Rama, made a site at Barhalgnj Immortal as Charan paduka. Lord Buddha ever visited this place and preched his teaching in the sacred area of Maha Yogi Guru Gorakshanath. A famous temple of Baba Jaleshwar Nath and a splendid temple of Maa Kali are situated in the eastward eartland of the town. The ancestors of the great classical debater Pt. Mandan Mishra, who debated with Shankracharya, migrsted from this very area. The great anscetics First Tapasvi Jee Maharaj Swami Hansanand Teerth, Swami Swatantrata Nand Jee Maharaj, Swami Karpatri Jee Manaraj and many more great personalities have made this palce gloriously momorable, And what is more, even decades ago only, this palce has been radiating out the Dr. Prabhakar Trivedi, educational activist Sri Ram Chabile vastava, soco-educational Sri Ram Kawal Shahi, and very honest dedicated politicians Sri Bhrigunath Chaturvedi and ex- minister Sri Kalpnath Singh(still alive).
The Muktipath i.e. the way to salvation is not merely a cremation ground, but it is also a very austere place for spiritualising the aesthtic sense of those who chance to visit this site. Further more, it is an association for Human welfare & Environmrntal Conservation. Motherland is worshipable for all of us mortals wherw we take birth as infant. So that place should also be worshipable which recives the ignoble end. This very theme gave rise to the Muktipath The last destination of the mortals -A Memorial. This is the place from where the human body resolves itself into five subtle elements, Viz,Earth, Water, Space, Fire & Ai. From this very place the individual spirit depart from the human body and travel to merge into Universal Spirit. That is why the name of this memorial is MUKTIPATH A WAY TO SALVATION. Muktipath is also a spritual attempt to sympathise and share with the sorrow of the mournful relatives of the deceased. Muktipath, the last abode of human souls, is a humble step towards promoting and propagating the noble cause of welfare of mankind and conservation of environment and it has miraculously, during a very short span of time, attained the status of an unparallel social and cultural movement in India, which could be accomplished only with the benovalence and grace of "The Almighty God", who enlightens our hearts, with the blessings of invisible souls and unfailing devotion of the co-workers and above all with the kind help and support of the donors. It is situated in the vicinity of Barhalganj, on the north bank of the river Saryu, exactly estward the bridge over the river at the National Highway from Gorakhpur to Varanasi, at a distance of 60 km. from Gorkhpur city.
